Fies the itching frim plaquenil stop

Over the last six months I began to experience extremely itchy skin - I just wanted to scratch my skin off - sometimes without realising I made my arms bleed. I then, about 5 weeks ago, began to experience my eyes becoming very itchy, on the inside, they became very red and watered continuiously.

Severe depression and anxiety, overall itching, pain and stiffness increased instead of decreased First, my mother and sister took plaquenil for lupus with good effect, so I am not just disliking it for no good reason. I also suffer from disabling bipolar disorder. For 25 years, I have gotten hypomanic during spring. Very happy, never depressed. May 07, 2012 Saturday was a week since I stopped taking Plaquenil, aka Hydroxychloroquine, per my doctor's instructions, and I think I am going through some form of withdrawal. I took the drug as a treatment for sarcoidosis and one of the side effects is a reduction in white blood cells, which is what has happened to me. Apr 10, 2019 Taking Plaquenil long-term or at high doses may cause irreversible damage to the retina of your eye. Stop taking Plaquenil and call your doctor at once if you have trouble focusing, if you see light streaks or flashes in your vision, or if you notice any swelling or color changes in your eyes.

I could not go to work looking as I did, so I stopped taking them. I put up with this for a few days and then thought enough was enough.

  6. Hi, I started taking Plaquenil on June 24th and for the last four or 5 days have had horrible itching. No rash just all over itching. My Rhuemy told me to stop taking it until all itching symptoms were gone, then wait another week and start up again with 1 pill 200mg a day instead of 2.

Hydroxychloroquine plaquenil withdrawl? - LUPUS UK I do think it's helped with fatigue and muscle pain but it's hard for me to compare to Xmas as when the improvement is so gradual I think it's really hard to notice on a gradual basis. Anyway he's suggested stopping the plaquenil for a month as he said sometimes that's the best way to tell if it's helping.
