Allergic reaction to Plaquenil Lupus Forums at The Lupus. And their welt rashes look exactly like the welts I had all over from this reaction. I have never had lupus rash other than the Malar rash on my face and upper chest area, and rash in my scalp. the only way to be sure is to either biopsy the rash or to restart the plaquenil. I wouldn't restart the plaquenil with the rash you have, I would.

Plaquenil - My joints swell, fatigue, mouth and eyes are dry, ulcers in my mouth and nose, sun sensitivity, Raynaud's, rashes etc. My rheumatologist put me on Plaquenil and just said "this is the medication we use when people have symptoms like yours", but then say I don't have Lupus, RA or Sjogren's! I see a number of other specialists for my other symptoms.
